As many of you may know, the group One Direction has become quite famous over the past few years. One Direction is a musical group made up of five guys name Niall, Liam, Louis, Harry, and Zayn. Four of them are from England and one is from Ireland. Originally, they all tried on on The X Factor UK as solo artists. Then as the show went on they got placed into a group, and that was when One Direction was born.
People sometimes think that One Direction is a band for little girls and that they don't have any talent whatsoever. But I think that they don't ever really give the band a chance. One Direction has released four albums so far in their career. Their most recent album, "Four", sold 387,000 copies in its first week. Also, they are the only group with four number one album debuts in history. Now I think that's pretty good for a band that many people think is for little girls.
One Direction is a very talented group and have been compared to the Beatles for their world wide success. They have a fan base of millions and it keeps growing with every album and tour. They've done countless performances on awards shows and festivals and they keep getting bigger and bigger.
I am indeed a fan of One Direction and I have been for a few years now. I guess you could say I have "One Direction Infection" as some people call it. I think they're all extremely talented and when put together in a group, it created something incredible. I've been to two of their concerts so far and believe me when I say that they know how to perform. They engage the crowd and put on a fantastic show that will leave you breathless. Just by being at their concert and seeing how the act on stage, you can tell that they love what their doing and they don't want it to end anytime soon.
People should learn to appreciate One Direction more. Despite what some people may think they are a very talented band and they have worked very hard for everything they have. The next time you hear about them, take some time to listen to their music. It has evolved throughout their career and has really turned into something special. Even if you only listen to one song, I would listen to Stockholm Syndrome. It has a very unique sound and maybe just maybe, it will change your feelings towards them.
Hopefully now you have a better understand of the phenomenon that is One Direction. But before you judge them, listen to their music and give them a chance because they have talent that you don't come across very often.

ReplyDeleteI agree completly! While I personally do not have a Harry Styles shrine in my room or a Niall cardboard cutout that I talk to, I do actually like that band. I am not the biggest fan of the typical top 40's, yet some songs like "Little Things" and "Night Changes" still find their way into my 'favorites' playlist. I like your thought on the 'little girl band', but I do not think they are under-estimated. Despite my lack of obsession with the boys, they have already succeded more then I ever will. I do appreciate them. They are just our typical boy band that teenage girls will continue to swoon over. I like the music and their positivity. Its a refreshing change from the Biebers' of our generation.
